John Nies
Vice President of Operations
John oversees all HERO BX operations across the 3 facilities. John began his career at HERO BX as a college intern and has worked his way up from an Operations Engineer to Director of Procurement and Logistics, to Vice President of Operations, where he leads all sourcing for feedstock and chemicals utilized in the production of biodiesel.
An Erie native, John earned a bachelor’s degree from Clemson University in Biosystems Engineering with a minor in BioEngineering and a master’s in Engineering Management from Gannon University. John and his wife Nicole have two children and he enjoys coaching his children’s sports teams as well as playing and watching sports.
