Scott Newell

Director of Environmental Health and Safety

Scott oversees the HERO BX Pennsylvania and Alabama plants environmental compliance. For over 20 years, Newell contributed to the environmental and safety programs at International Paper Corporation and now HERO BX. Scott also holds certifications in DOT Hazardous Materials, RCRA and 40-hour HAZWOPER.

An Erie native, Scott received his bachelor’s degree in Environmental Studies and Geography from Edinboro University of Pennsylvania and post graduate studies at both Gannon and Mercyhurst Universities. He enjoys golf, cycling and skiing as hobbies and is a member and past chairman of the Erie County Local Emergency Planning Committee.
